DIFFERENT TOUCH

This sudden new media project is one of my favourite for its implementation of gold leaf in the structure. As of the technicalities, this project consists a 3d printed and plastered hand sculpture that I transformed into a touch sensitive object by implementing gold leaf on it. Apart from that, this project is made with esp32 microprocessor and a display with which a watcher can interact trough physical contact with the hand. I made some digital illustartions that will change every time someone touches the gold foiled hand.
As of the concept, this project is an interactive representation of how different touch can generate different reaction of one person or situation. It’s like how we are behaving or talking with someone, or how we’re touching people, or someone’s heart or feelings, or how we are handling situations. The outcome will always be different and dependent of our input. Each of The illustration acts as the metaphore of one’s true expression with respect to external touch.
However, as an ongoing project, this sculpture can only read touches and triggers specific images one after another.
It can’t display any video format right now and can’t read the details of of HOW someone is touching it. That is yet to experiment.
